Renegade Craft Fair was this last weekend, and it was such a blast! Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth and checked out our new pieces. Our Bow Bracelets and Fishtail Gem Bracelets were a huge hit at Renegade, so I’m excited to get to work creating more to restock. I have done quite a few craft fairs and street festivals in the past, but by far, Renegade has been my favorite to exhibit and attend.
I haven’t done a craft fair in quite awhile, so I was really excited for Renegade. I really wanted to revamp the look of my booth and the jewelry displays, so lots of planning and Pinteresting happened.
I decided on a neutral table cloth of burlap and then I made new bracelet stands inspired by this tutorial from Life Ann Style. Instead of using paper rolls, I used PVC piping from Home Depot that I covered in vinyl that I got from the fabric store. I also got some wooden crates from Michael’s to use as risers. I also used a clear tray from the container store filled with sparkly sand to hold my earrings and cuff bracelets.
For the tissue paper back drops, I used this tutorial from Ruffled Blog. They were so easy to do, and I loved the way they turned out!
I also got the opportunity to share my booth with Tammy from Tammy Smith Designs, so it was great to see how our brands looked side by side. If you need some unique and fun art you should definitely check out her collection!
Renegade has such a great variety of goods and the sheer caliber of the skills and creativity of the vendors are so amazing and inspiring. I constantly had to remind myself that I was there to sell and not to shop, but that didn’t stop me from picking up a few things 🙂 I ended up getting this Chicago Print from Tammy Smith Designs and this Self Watering Garden Jar from my other booth neighbor, Modern Sprout.
Thanks again to everyone who stopped by and be sure to check out our Events Page regularly to see where See Song Designs will be next!
Had to share a snap of our littlest and cutest bow bracelet customer from this weekend!
Disclaimer: I did not go to school in the south nor did I go to OU (Illini for life, if you’re wondering). However, my boyfriend went to OU and is a die hard Sooner fan. Thus, every year for the past 4 years, we travel down to Dallas for the Red River Rivalry game between the University of Oklahoma and the University of Texas.
The first time I went to Dallas, it was a huge a culture shock to see southern belles decked out from head to toe in their school colors. I’m talking homemade spirit dresses, huge hair, bold lipstick, and of course, no outfit in the south is complete without cowboy boots. If you’re like me, and fairly new to the whole decked out game day look, it can be really easy to be fashionable while supporting your favorite team.
Victoria’s Secret has their Collegiate Collection (and NFL & MLB lines) which make dressing cute for the game super simple. If you have some time and you’re feeling crafty, I love this Game Day Dress tutorial made out of regular old tshirts. Jewelry and accessories are also a great way to add some color and sparkle to your look. I’m partial to our bow bracelets and bows in general. Since SSD jewelry is hand made, we can make many of our designs in an endless array of colors. If you can’t find your team’s colors email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to order your spirit jewelry!
How do you rep your school on game day? Check out my game day inspo below!
I just absolutely love bows. I grew up with bows, and I have always had them incorporated into my life in one way or another. My mom and aunts are professional bow makers (yes, that is a profession) for my godmother’s company Bows Arts. They sell handmade children’s hair bows to retailers like Brooks Brothers and Neiman Marcus. Bows have always been a part of my life, and they’re pretty much a symbol of my family and childhood.
Some of my favorite pieces from the See Song Designs collection are the bow bracelets. My mom and I work together to make these bracelets, so the process of making them is really special to me. It’s great to work with my mom, and it’s fun to see the end result once we’re done. My mom knows a lot about colors and what colors will be in season, so it’s really great to incorporate her knowledge into my jewelry collection. The bow bracelets are one of my best sellers, and it makes me really happy to know that people enjoy something that is a product of our collaborative hard work and creativity. Here are some of my favorite bow pieces for the holidays:
